Treeby Community Centre

February/March 2019

We have two big projects happening in Calleya, Treeby in 2019 and want your input:

  • The City is now calling expressions of interest from new or existing clubs to be located at a new reserve on the corner of Torwood Avenue and Clementine Boulevard in Treeby.
  • In February 2019, the City will consult residents and sporting groups about potential uses for a new community and sports facility next to the reserve.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST FOR RESERVE

The City is seeking Expressions of Interest by 29 March 2019 from new or existing clubs to be located at the new reserve. The reserve is currently being constructed by the developer Stockland Pty Ltd, with turf being laid. It will be ready for community use in early 2019 and for sporting club use from potentially mid-2019 onwards once the grass has been established.

The timeframe for Expressions of Interest allows sporting clubs to undertake due diligence and governance requirements, should they need to re-locate. Interested parties should contact the City’s Recreation Services officers on 9411 3444 or email recreation@cockburn.wa.gov.au.

See the EOI documents here.

COMMUNITY AND SPORTS CENTRE

Based in the town centre on the corner of Torwood Avenue and Clementine Boulevard, the community centre will service the forecast 7,750 plus residents living in Treeby and 3,212 residents in Jandakot.

It will support the development of a vibrant community hub, while providing a flexible and functional community space that offers a variety of different purposes for the community.

The City will work closely with the primary developer, Stockland Pty Ltd, to ensure the overarching development principles of Calleya Estate are achieved -- sustainability, transit orientated design, streetscape and legibility and place making. It is estimated that it will take three years to design and build the centre.

We look forward to working with you on these projects. If you want to receive monthly updates about these community and recreational projects, please register below.
