Consultation has concluded

Thanks for your input to help shape the new Treeby Community and Sports Centre. Take a look at the draft design and let us know what you think.

Background

Based in the town centre on the corner of Torwood Avenue and Clementine Boulevard in Treeby, the new community and sport centre will service the forecasted 7,750 plus residents living in Treeby and 3,200 plus residents in Jandakot.

Its location next to cafes, shops and other town centre attractions will support the development of a vibrant community hub, while providing flexible and functional community spaces that offer a variety of different uses to the community.

In early 2019, we asked our community what spaces the Community and Sports Centre should provide and what they would like to see. Input from residents groups, the local community and Stockland have been used to develop a draft design for this new facility.

Here's a summary of what you said:

  • Space for a wide variety of sports
  • A place/hub for people of all ages and cultures
  • Space for both indoor and outdoor activities
  • Space for fitness classes and sessions
  • Spaces for music practice and performances
  • Space for community and family events
  • The facility will bring together the local community
  • A playground or play spaces / areas for children
  • Environment themed public artwork

The new facility also incorporates a sporting field, which will be shared by the adjacent future primary school, local sporting clubs and the community. The sporting field has since been fast tracked, with the grassed area now installed.
