Your Budget requests

As part of the next Budget, the City has invited resident groups to submit up to five projects for consideration for funding during the 2019-2020 financial year.

We've asked the groups to prioritise them by numbering them with 1 being highest priority.

From dog parks to shade sails, playground improvements to footpaths and barbecues, the groups have now lodged their submissions and we have uploaded them here for you to see.

Thank you to our resident groups and your members for having input into the budget process. Many groups conducted polls on Facebook or discussed their priority projects at resident meetings.

We are now costing and assessing your requests against the City’s policies and Council adopted plans. For example, a toilet block may be considered for a regional park but not a local park. Also we may already have your suggested project scheduled for a future year.

Note that the City’s budget is limited and first priority is given to projects and activities that Council has already agreed to provide/build/maintain in line with community feedback and Council decisions that are featured in our Corporate Business Plan.

We will keep in touch with resident groups in coming months and advise you by the end of February 2019 about which items have been included in the budget papers for Council’s consideration, those which will be deferred for consideration in future years and those which do not fit with policy.
