Consultation has concluded

As the population in the City of Cockburn grows, there is a need to improve existing parks and facilities due to increased demand and changing community needs.

So the reserve and community centre continue to serve our growing community, we are working with a recreation consultant to deliver a needs assessment, feasibility study, and concept design to inform future upgrades to these facilities. The City will consider community feedback alongside potential budget and logistical constraints as we develop these plans.

About the site

Beeliar Reserve is an active sports location used by local clubs such as Beeliar Spirit Association Football Club and Phoenix Beeliar Junior Cricket Club. During the Community, Sport, and Recreation Facilities Plan 2018-2033 process, the Phoenix Cricket Club expressed a desire to move from their current location at Tempest Park in Coolbellup and make Beeliar Reserve their main home ground in the future.

The Beeliar Community Centre is in the north-west corner of the reserve. This facility includes a main hall with a kitchen, storeroom, changing rooms with toilets, and a meeting room with a small kitchen and outdoor play area. The facility is open for community hire and can host gatherings of 50 to 150 guests. It sees consistent use by various groups engaged in diverse activities for the community.

    Next steps

The City is assessing the community's input as we prepare a feasibility study. This study encompasses various research aspects and takes into account factors like demographic analysis, existing provisions, future trends, and facility benchmarks. When available, we will provide an update on the study.
