About the draft

The draft budget includes an investment of $44 million in capital works projects for the upcoming fiscal year. This budget will fund the construction, renovation, and maintenance of infrastructure for our community such as roads, buildings, parks, playgrounds, sporting reserves, and other public facilities. Among other things, the budget includes the following key projects:

  • Completing the duplication of Hammond Road, Success - $1m (total $22.6m)
  • Finalising preliminary planning and commencing construction works at Beale Park, Spearwood - $1.18m
  • New lighting and parking upgrades at Santich Park, Munster - $1.2m
  • Additional funding for upgrades to the Rockingham Road/Phoenix Road intersection, Spearwood - $1.28m (total $2.4m)
  • Design for stage two of the new Cockburn Resource Recovery Precinct, Henderson - $1.5m
  • Renewal of drainage along Stratton Street, Hamilton Hill - $1.5m
We have prioritised these projects considering the current global economic conditions while aligning them with our long-term plans and strategies. The draft capital works budget will undergo deliberation by Council at the June Special Council meeting, so it may be subject to change.
