The City of Cockburn has received a revised Noise Management Plan for the Cockburn-Fremantle Pistol Club. Submissions on this revised noise management plan are invited from the community.


About the noise management plan

This noise management plan is required under Part 2, Division 4 of the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997, and as part of their lease agreement with the City of Cockburn. The Cockburn-Fremantle Pistol Club is an indoor range that has been operating at 886 Warton Road, Treeby since 1980 and currently has over 180 members.

  • Demonstrates improved noise levels from new noise insulation,
  • Designates times of operation,
  • Restricts the type and calibres of firearms,
  • Describes the noise complaint response procedure.

    The public comment period was open from 18 May 2022 to 14 June 2022.

    A total of four submissions were received and considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Protection (Noise) Regulations 1997.

    A memorandum including all submissions was prepared by City Officers and presented to the City of Cockburn’s Chief Executive Officer.

    The noise management plan was approved under the Regulations by the City of Cockburn’s Chief Executive Officer on 12 July 2022.
