The City has prepared several options, including to retain the reserves as is, and would like to hear your views on each. The options also consider pedestrian access, which must be retained for people of all abilities.

Community feedback will be considered alongside project constraints like budget and various pedestrian needs to guide decision-making. No decisions have been made at this stage.

    Thank you for your feedback

We recently invited your feedback on potential fence options for the Yangebup Road verge at Milgun and Perena Rocchi Reserves (Yangebup). The Comment on Cockburn project webpage was visited over 400 times and we received responses from 108 people. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

    What our community said

Most respondents (52%) prefer the chain mesh fence, followed by the limestone wall (40%). Eight per cent of respondents prefer to either retain the existing bollards or none of the available options. The reasons why respondents preferred the chin mesh fence design include:

    • Effectiveness: Appears to make unauthorised access more difficult compared to the limestone wall.
    • Multi-purpose: Seems safer for children and pets as it provides a road barrier.
    • Security: Seems more secure as it is taller and most pedestrian access points are gated rather than open.
    • Aesthetics: A handful prefer the look of chain mesh compared to limestone.
    • Maintenance: Appears easy and cost effective to maintain and less susceptible to graffiti.
