The proposed amendment to the Lots 114 and 123-125 Wattleup Road Hammond Park Structure Plan as seen in the Document Library, relates to land located at Lot 305 Whadjuk Drive and Lots 9042 and 9052 Wattleup Road, Hammond Park. The proposed amendment seeks to modify the existing Residential R30, R50 and R60 zoning and public open space, to a ‘Local Centre R80’ zoning across all three lots.

What will happen next?

After the comment period, the City's Technical Officers will make a recommendation for Council to consider. This recommendation takes into account a range of considerations, including planning guidelines and community feedback. Following a Council decision, the application will proceed to the State Government (Western Australian Planning Commission) for final determination on whether it should or should not proceed.

    The Statutory Planning Committee considered Council’s recommendation on the proposed Structure Plan Amendment at their meeting on 4 April 2023. The Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) approved the amendment on 3 August 2023.

    The City advertised the proposed Structure Plan Amendment for public comment between 30 June and 11 August and received 107 submissions. Thank you for your input.

    The City presented a report, including the community’s feedback, to Council for consideration at the Ordinary Council Meeting in November 2022. Council recommended that the application be refused. The Western Australian Planning Commission will consider Council’s recommendation and make the final decision.
