Project update: February 2025

10 February 2025

The City of Cockburn would like to thank the community for their involvement in the community consultation for the Success Reserve Draft Master Plan.

The City has identified the need to deliver upgrades to Success Reserve to meet the community’s needs and future growth. Using feedback collected from the Community Sports Recreational and Facilities Plan 2018 (CSRFP) midway review in April 2023, the City developed a draft Master Plan for improvements to Success Reserve. The draft concepts plans were shared with community for feedback in October and November 2024.

The project’s webpage received 683 visits, with 26 online surveys completed. In-person meetings were held with key stakeholders on request.

Overall, the community told us:

  • 76 percent of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the draft Master Plan. 12 percent were neutral, and 12 percent were dissatisfied or very dissatisfied
  • More parking should be included in the new Master Plan
  • More shelter, shade and seating are required for the netball courts, spectators for both netball and rugby, and to increase usage of amenities throughout the seasons
  • Additional toilet facilities should be considered
  • A larger basketball pad would be beneficial.

A community feedback summary is available in the Document Library on the Comment on Cockburn project page.

Next steps

The City will present a report, which will include community feedback and final designs, to Council at the February 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting (OCM) for consideration. It is planned that the overarching Master Plan for Success Reserve will serve as a long-term guiding document for improvements to the precinct over the coming years.
