Project update: June 2024

13 June 2024

In September and October 2023, the City asked for community feedback about the possibility of adding a public toilet and a fenced dog area at Macfaull Park.

Of those who participated in the community consultation, the majority of respondents were against the idea of an enclosed dog park. Taking this feedback on board, the City will not be providing a fenced section of Macfaull Park for dogs. Although the fenced area will not be proceeding, Macfaull Park is still classified as an off-leash dog exercise area and this status will remain.

We also heard that the majority of participants were in support of adding dog exercise equipment and a dog water bowl station. You may have spotted that the water bowl has already been installed, with six different dog exercise obstacles due for installation in June/July 2024.

In relation to the toilets, 64% of respondents were in support of adding public toilet facilities to Macfaull Park. If approved by Council, the City will proceed with drafting designs, which will then be provided to community for feedback before the end of 2024.
