Background

Each year, the City replaces ageing playground equipment at selected parks to keep our play spaces safe, fun, and up to date. These upgrades are part of our ongoing Parks and Environment Asset Management Plan and are based on regular condition inspections.

This year, three playgrounds are due for renewal. For each location, we have prepared two or three design options, and you can let us know which ones you prefer by rating your favourites.

While the renewal designs may look a little different, each one offers a similar type of play experience as the existing equipment, with some exciting updates inspired by modern playground design.

This program focuses on replacing play equipment only. It doesn’t include additional features such as shade sails, seating, or BBQs. However, if a playground is also scheduled for a shade sail upgrade around the same time, this will be clearly noted on the individual project pages.
