Project Update: September 2020

In May 2020, the City sought feedback on a proposal for a skate park in Aubin Grove. The project received lots of interest, with over 1200 project page visits. The City received 290 feedback forms and 21 submissions (excluding those that also did the survey).

Our community said they value open spaces that are safe, family-friendly and complement existing amenity. Radiata is a popular community destination and the preferred location for enhancements. While many respondents and young people were eager to see skateboarding amenities, an array of alternatives were put forward for further consideration.

Feedback and a petition were considered by Council at the September 2020 Ordinary Council Meeting. Council made a resolution to undertake further community consultation with young people and local community members. The consultation will explore options for Radiata Park that meet the needs of young people and the community.
