The Port Coogee Marina Expansion

Consultation has concluded

The Port Coogee Marina was originally designed so that it could be expanded in the future to meet the demand for more boat bays. In 2018, with occupancy rates reaching above 90%, the wait list for boat bays growing, and residential developments underway on Maraboo Island, the City commenced the process for expansion. Two preliminary concept designs for the expansion were presented and endorsed to Council at the June 2018 Ordinary Council Meeting.

As part of Local Government Act 1995, a Business Case for the expansion was then developed and a preferred draft design adopted. From September to October 2019, the City sought community feedback on the Business Case and draft design over a 42-day advertised public comment period.

The Comment on Cockburn project page was visited 816 times across the comment period time frame. Documents (the business case and preferred concept layout) were downloaded 451 times and the public survey was visited 166 times.

Here is a snapshot of what you told us.

Feedback from the comment period was presented to Council at the December 2019 Ordinary Council Meeting. You can view the full report here.

Following input from the community, the City will work with consultants to develop a detailed design for the expansion and seek to secure funding for the delivery of Stage 1 of the expansion with the 2020/21 budget.
