From feedback to action: Local Laws update

Community feedback has helped shape the review of the City’s local laws. Here’s an update on where things are at.

The City of Cockburn has been reviewing its local laws, with community feedback helping to shape this process at each stage.

Between January and March 2026, we invited feedback on six proposed new local laws:

Proposed Health and Nuisances Local Law 2026

Proposed Fencing Local Law 2026

Proposed Parking Local 2026

Proposed Waste Amendment Local Law 2026

Proposed Keeping of Animals Local Law 2026

Proposed Public Places Local Law 2026

Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback or stay informed. During the comment period, over 6000 people opened the public notice e-newsletter, and the Local Laws project page received more than 7,400 visits.

The team has reviewed all feedback and prepared Schedule of Submissions. These documents outline the feedback received and how it has been considered by the City. You can view these on the individual project pages, or here:
